Quality Control Program
This begins during the
initial client contact. It is at
this time that our Manager and our Project Architect will work with the
client to develop a complete understanding of what the exact needs are and
what the end product should be. Once
this understanding has been met, the Manager will then develop a complete
scope of work so that there is no misunderstanding as to what the client
expects the A/E team to provide.
Once the Notice-to-Proceed
has been received, our first action is to research all aspects of the
project, including what has worked successfully for other clients in the
past and if we can utilize prior completed designs to fast track the
project. After these issues have
been addressed, we then begin the design process.
Karluk
Design ensures quality control during the design phases by conducting
regularly scheduled peer review meetings with the entire design team and an
Owner representative. The primary
agenda of these meetings is to address the individual production schedules,
the assigned design tasks, review of the design documents and construction
specifications.
Finally, when the documents
are considered complete, Karluk Design submits
the documents to an independent “auditor” who does a detailed review to
troubleshoot the design issues in an unbiased manner. It is only after this review that Karluk Design will ask the client to bless the
documents for publication of the Invitation to Bid.
